If you’re early in the journey, wondering whether to renovate, extend or build new, weighing up a property purchase, or simply unsure where to start; SiteInsight is for you. It suits owners who want an experienced architect’s honest read on what their site can do and what it sensibly can’t.

SiteInsight is an early-stage consultation designed to help you make confident decisions before committing to a renovation, extension, new build or property purchase. It provides an experienced architect’s perspective on your site, exploring its opportunities, constraints and potential, from planning considerations and site conditions to design possibilities, sustainability opportunities and the best path forward.

Rather than starting with drawings, SiteInsight starts with understanding what your property can realistically achieve, helping you avoid costly mistakes and make informed decisions from the beginning.

It includes:

  • Up to 90 minutes on-site consultation
  • Review of existing information (plans, title, planning overlays, photos if available)
  • Site analysis: orientation, solar access, views, topography, constraints and opportunities
  • Initial discussion around renovation vs extension vs new build options
  • Passive solar and sustainability opportunities
  • Preliminary comments on likely planning pathways and project risks
  • Brief written summary with recommendations and next steps

SiteInsight is a fixed-fee service of $1,250 + GST for properties within 75km of Melbourne CBD.

For properties outside this area or with additional complexity, we can provide a tailored fee.

If you decide to proceed with TERRA! for the next stage of your project, the SiteInsight fee can be credited towards your Concept Design service.

SiteInsight is available for properties across Melbourne and surrounding areas, including the outer suburbs, regional towns and locations within approximately a 75km radius of the Melbourne CBD.

We can meet you on site at a time that suits you, usually allowing enough time to walk through the property, discuss your ideas and understand your goals. Following the visit, we provide a summary of our observations, opportunities and recommendations to help guide your next steps.
